The RAIDStorage.uk.com XE RAID series was specifically designed to encompass suitability for a wide variety of
environments and applications. Target usage ranges from the small business to departmental and corporate server needs.
The XE RAID series offer excellent performance, high reliability, high availability, greater storage capacity and a
cost effective external RAID subsystem solution. They offer an ideal solution for "media streaming" or clients
requiring high data transfer rates. When properly configured, the RAID array can provide an uninterrupted 24 hour service
with a high degree of fault tolerance through the use of RAID technology and advanced array management features.
Our XE Series RAID systems provides not only RAID levels 0,1,3,5, 0+1 & JBOD but also RAID 6. It can be managed either
through the LCD control panel, RS232 Serial port or Ethernet port (Web Browser-Based Management Utility). It also
contains an SMTP manager which monitors all system events and the client can select the option of either single or
multiple user notifications to be sent via plain-text e-mails.
| Superior Performance |
 |

Our RAID controller utilizes a high performance Intel 80321 I/O processor
along with intelligent cache system, which supports up to 1GB of Cache Memory with ECC protection (256MB Cache Supplied
as standard with XE-Series RAID Systems)

Advanced 64-bit PCI-X bus architecture.
|
Proprietary ASIC to support the high performance and demands of RAID level 6.
|
What is RAID 6?
A RAID 6 array is essentially an extension of a RAID 5 array with a second independent distributed parity scheme.
Data and parity are striped on a block level across multiple array members, just like in RAID 5, and a second set
of parity is calculated and written across all the drives.
|
|
| Continuous Availability |
 |

With advanced algorithms to provide RAID levels 0,1,3,5, 0+1, 6 & JBOD as your option.

"Online Array roaming" allows the administrator/user the ability
to move a complete RAID set to another system without losing the RAID configuration data of that specific raid set.
If an XE RAID Array fails to function, the raid set disk drives can be moved to another XE RAID Array and inserted in
any order.

|
Redundant and hot swappable power modules and cooling fan systems can tolerate
a mains power failure without interrupting the clients services/usage of the XE RAID array.
|
Online RAID level/stripe size migration.
Online capacity expansion and RAID level migration simultaneously.
Instant availability and background initialization.
|
|
  |
Hot swap new disk drives without taking the system down.
Automatic drive failure detection and hot spare drive rebuilding.
Operating System independent and transparent.
|
  |
  |
|   |
Why should you use RAID 6?
1) It can accept two simultaneous disk drive failures without any downtime or data loss to the user/client's system.
2) Higher fault tolerance than RAID 1, 3 or 5.
3) Ideal for applications requiring large logical drives
4) Lower implementation cost than disk drive mirroring.

| RAIDStorage.uk.com Ltd RAID Management |
 |
 |
Manual configuration and monitoring can be achieved through the LCD control panel, RS-232 Serial connection or Ethernet Channels. |

Web Browser-based RAID manager allows local and remote access from a standard Internet browser via a 10/100 Ethernet port with no software or patches required. This capability offers the most convenient way to configure and monitor your XE RAID subsystem.
Event Notification

The firmware contains an SMTP manager monitoring all of the system events and the user can select either single or multiple recipients to be notified via plain text e-mails.

Warning and system event messages will display in the LCD display and by audible alarm & LEDs.
 |
Automatically transmits the event/alarm report by e-mail. |
| High Reliability |
 |

Cable-less design, utilizes solid-state PCB and connectors
 |
High quality Dual 460 watt power modules supporting PFC (power factor correction), and are automatically temperature controlled via FAN Speed/Fan RPM. |

Fully modular design: disk drives, cooling fans, LCD display and switches, power supplies, and RAID controller are hot-swappable, enabling easy swap out of faulty parts to minimize the down time of the RAID Array.

Optional internal RAID Controller Cache Memory Battery Back-up module is available to protect the data from a sudden power cut occurring simultaneously to data being written to the XE RAID Array.
| High performance and wide ranging airflow design; redundant fans used throughout our XE system designs. |
